A BLANK VERSE....

lost, loony, lonely..
subjected, dejected, rejected..
suppressed, oppressed, depressed..
repressed-silent yet violent...
the heat of the moment,
burns bright-
the white flash of anger..
boils in our blood....
rebellion stirs amongst us..
in us..
against the system....
against the known-
yet the unknown faces...
of the authority..
of the mindless bureaucrats...
of the professionals...
who cares not....
we fight as one......
yet we feel so alone.....
getting no answers...
banging our heads....
againt the Black walls..
tick tick..tock tock...
the hands of the clock
movd on....
noisy-too loud...
we see the Red...
but we feel so Blue..
we feel the Green...
seeing our foes...
yet we long for the Yellow...
and dream of a better
Tomorrow...

IT'S TIME FOR A NEW BEGINNING...

A tad too late but never too late, I strongly believe. It's been a few days but the news is still abuuzz. UKC 's services terminated by SIU. Reaons- treasury, embezzlement, long absences from the canpus..blah blah blah..there are some strong rumours(mostly facts hush-hush in corridors too)..but at this point..who cares???
Who cares what the reasons are? The fact is he's gone..and gone for good.Leaving in his wake a plethora of questions..confusions..awe..wonder..smirks and random comments by our random neighbours..
2010..is in a bad shape placement-wise..sure..but 2011..is in a lurch..right??
God knows what's in store..
The how-s and why-s and the what-s and the when-s of our harmless questions..no-one ventures forth to answer..
How long do they expect this silence to continue???
How long can we go on..without solutions to our problems..
Thanks UKC..
Really...

THE GREEN BATTLE

GO GREEN is the buzz word everywhere it seems. And why not? Given the Earth's destruction almost every moment by an unaware, callous, indifferent and a careless individual, at any point on the globe-Green indeed is the watch word of today. The clock is ticking away. No 2012  is not the end of the world- but that knowledge alone cannot bear the merit of a big  sigh of relief. Aplopcalyse is actually quite near a neighbour-if we choose to see beyond our boundaries of our materialistic pursuits of "happiness."
It is this urgency that caused the initiation of FOOTPRINTS into a Green affair. Seminars were held almost in all part of our country and even beyond the borders to discuss on the gravity of the matter.
But thank God, the case did not close with only loud voices and strong words. The talks were supplemented by a thoughtful plan of action.
The concept of GreenBattle.com was born. A brain child of our director, Green Battle gradually took its first baby steps of formation in the hands of a well-aware, environment-conscious and a creative team. Yes we emerged as the Earth Warriors ( this tag line naturally stolen from HP's "Water Warriors" initiative) and not the harmless peace-mongers. We want to fight. Actively- not passively. We have the grit, passion supported by our collective vision to stretch this concept of Green much beyond the boundaries of SIMC - beyond Pune even - and make it a national effort.  Backed by a strong mentor team, this "TRUST" of ours hopes to achieve its dreams fast.
GreenBattle.com is thus not a website merely. It is an awareness building tool. It is a youth initiative. It hopes to reach out effectively to the likeminded and even incite others to join us in our green drive.
Our concern for the green has led us to create a number of innovative sections-which will define and guide our journey. We embark on this mission- not out of goodwill-but rather a genuine love for our planet and fellow human  beings.
No race, no class, no borders can divide us in our effort.
We shall progress self-willed to see a better world ahead.
No miracle doctors are we, but rather dreamers, who will leave  no stone unturned to see their dreams translated into action.
And we shall- coz we can.

KEEDAPANTHI FULL ON..

Zehen today concluded itself with unstoppable claps and a standing ovation. The fest, which centred itself around the tag-line of Keedapanthi, showed how a simple passion and love for theatre can actually pull audiences from a cross section of the society. We had our much loved "BUM" ARUNDHATI NAG with her aura of serenity and wise words as a chief guest for the show. Her words were not a drab lecture-but spoke of the undying faith in the theatrical society. Theatre as she rightly pointed out, was not something that one should be trained to do. Our first instance of theatre is when we first lie. We have our first taste of acting then. But we never dare to delve deep into ourselves; so lost are we in the pursuit of materialistic happyness. True- theatre can never offer one the bread and butter for subsistence- but it is definitely an outlet for the creative keeda in you. Once bitten, never shy. And likewise agreed the ASAP frontman. SIMC together with their sister concerns- SIBM and SITM alonfg with other colleges, kept us glued to the 24/7 hungama with acts, workshops and performances for three straight days. One interesting and an innovative form was the interactive theatre by YOURS TRULY. It is as much an outlet for theraputic healing as well as the platform for the unleashing the creativity in you.  Words from the audience led to an impromptu act by the YOURS TRULY trio  that spellbound and enthralled the former, in their seats with mesmerized eyes popping out of skulls in wonderment and awe. Workshops were there too for the interested. The closing ceremony wrapped up by a hilarious performance by SIMC's very own Venky collaborating with Amit from ASAP. At around 1pm Zehen was marked over officially with the junior batch given the responsibility of raising the bar the next year. Oh yes we shall..for the keeda  is too strong to fade away...It's "bugged" all of us.

WHY SO SERIOUS????

It's that time of the year again, when reality hits you hard. A much needed wake-up call thrashes you mercilessly. You may feel a little lost. Yet there are some who cant refrain from giving themselves a pat on their back and a silent self-congratulatory note on their foresight. Such is what happenned today on day 2 of sem 2. The morning started with the much dreaded word "projects". Soon begun the mental kicks, the anguished adrenaline suppressed from hyperactivity and a conscious effort of thwarting any negativity. Soon the corridors were abuzz with the whispers of new plans- the mind steeled with concentrated resolutions. 7 is not a joke. Yet impossible, they say, is nothing.

BACK IN LAVALE

Interestingly, we are called the batch of 9/11. A lot indeed to live up to!!
All geared up from the break, we re-entered the college territories for our second innings at the campus. Excitement and adrenaline ran high as we greeted each other the usual way- slaps, high-fives, tight hugs and "bro-code" vibes. Yet thoughts still were turned towards the joys of the busy life left behind at home- the afterglow of the days of warmth and "ghar ka khana" still lingering in our minds. The jackets, sweaters and woollen wear seemed excess luggage as the sheer absence of the winter bites in the Pune air. The campus indeed looked more colourful to the sore eyes. Sem-2 had begun indeed. And what a bang it began with !! A test which we had to give unprepares. So what's new??? Yes. We had arrived. To look forward to our usual fun, frolic, masti, coffee-gossip, lectures, events and parties. That's our life @ SIMC.
